MCWR is organizing a day-long conference focused on some of the challenges around River Yamuna. The aim is to assist in the ongoing thought process in the state of Delhi and Govt of India, to revive, restore and rejuvenate the river.
There has been many suggestions and efforts towards a new, holistic and integrated approach to revival and restoration of River Yamuna.
MCWR intends to bring together multiple stakeholders from the government, public & private
sectors, and NGOs and trusts to discuss the role of technology and community connect and take the collaborated outcomes to all critical constituencies, including the villages.
River Yamuna, a vital water body running across several states in India, has faced severe degradation due to untreated domestic sewage waste disposal from the urban centres, agricultural run-off into Yamuna, solid waste disposal in the river, polluting industrial waste disposal in the river lack of water to maintain e-flow, overuse of ground water in the basin, encroachment of the river flood plain and perhaps many more.
The conference will have discussion on some of the challenges and look forward to coming up with suggestion for the revival of the Yamuna River. It will also explore the valid of concept of multi- utility mountain and possibly naming it in the name of Yug Purush and architect of Visit Bharat Honourable Prime Minister. Modiparvat can be the symbol of integrated revival of Yamuna.
